New camera in Nimbus Clipper for Android – a convenient pocket scanner for your documents

These days, smartphone cameras could easily replace the standard snapshot cameras. Pictures taken with cellphones, especially with proper lighting, are pretty good in quality. So, it comes as no surprise that smartphone cameras can be effectively used for purposes beyond taking regular snapshots. For instance, you could scan some document or bill. This is what a new Nimbus Clipper mode called “Document scanner” is for.

Nimbus Note Update for PC – new tag panel and fixed bugs

In the new version of Nimbus Note we significantly improved working with tags and fixed many annoying bugs.

 New tag panel

We know that may users did not like the old way of adding tags. In the new version we added another, more simple and convenient way. Now adding tags does not happen in a separate window rather than on the tag panel. You can add tags  yourself or choose from suggested variants. Just the way it was with the old tag panel, you can select a few tags at once. An important thing to mention – suggested tags are sorted in the same way as on the tag list.

We would also like to remind you that besides adding and editing, there are other ways you can work with tags in Nimbus Note:

– searching for notes by tags;
operations with tags, such as selecting multiple tags and excluding tags;
– quick access to note list by double clicking on a tag.

and a lot more.

Besides the tag aspect, we fixed many other bugs:

– Fixed issue with values changing when lists were scrolled through;

– Fixed issue with the note getting messed up when the bin was emptied;

– Fixed issue with reminders going off from out of the bin;

– Fixed issues with links in Only for reading mode;

– Improved performance when images are inserted in a note;

– Fixed issue with tags not getting deleted on the app after being deleted from the server;

– Possibility to hide/show tags without notes;

– Fixed other problems;

Saved Replies – your trusty aide when using Gmail

Hundreds of people contact our support service daily. Many questions are nearly identical and naturally so are the answers to them. However, time still has to be spent to type the answer. We couldn’t tolerate this waste of time for long and came up with Saved Replies – an app for Gmail. You can use it to create quick replies and insert them in your outgoing messages. For the app to work, a Nimbus Note account must be used, so all your replies are synchronized and you can use them on any computer.

It’s worth mentioning that you can insert in your letter not just the text, but any note from your Nimbus Note account, e.g. pictures, tables etc.

New Nimbus Note for iPhone – web-cliper and timeout for passcode

Nimbus Web Clipper now in iPhone

Saving various information from the internet is one of the most popular features in Nimbus Note. While special separate clippers are used for desktop browsers, we decided not to make a separate app for iPhone, packing the clipper right into the app itself.

By tapping on the Web-clipper icon you get to our browser and can open the internet page  you need. At that point you can:

– Save an article from a site (similar to Pocket or Instapaper);
– Save just the selected text fragment;
– Save a screenshot of the internet page;

You can also set folder and tags for your future note.

You can set time-out for the pass code feature.

The pass code feature is undoubtedly useful if you do not want for anyone else to gain access to your notes. But it may not be very convenient to be asked for the pass code every time when opening the app. In the new version of Nimbus Note you can set the pass code timeout yourself.

New version of Nimbus Screenshot and Screencast for Chrome

A new version of Nimbus Screenshot and Screencast for Google Chrome has been released.

Main changes:

You can stop recording a video using a Hotkey

A handy feature, especially when recording another window. Now you don’t need to go back to the Google Chrome browser window to stop the recording – just press a key combination ctrl+shift+0

Changes in the panel for sending screenshots

Some users complained that the process of sending screenshots to Nimbus Note is not quite intuitive. We modified the panels just a tad and here’s the result:

– you can send screenshots to Nimbus Note using the top or the bottom button Send to Nimbus;
– you can send the screenshot straight to the target folder using a special key (same applies to sending to Slack).

Lot’s of other fixes…

We also fixed plenty of other issues that prevented the app from working properly on certain websites. If you spot any other issues, please let us know right away.

– Problem with Clear Type on the list of notes/folders/tags fixed;

And a lot more.

Nimbus Screenshot for Google Chrome update – new panel for sending stuff to Nimbus Note

In our last update we added Slack integration. For the purpose of integration, we added a special panel that many of you loved and asked to do the same for Nimbus Note. It was our pleasure to make your wishes come true.

The new sending panel  really saves you a great deal of tine – you no longer need to click several times to send screenshots to our server. Now, once the screenshot has been created and annotated, you just need to press Send to Nimbus Note or CTRL + Enter to send it and get a link to the note straightaway. Quick and convenient.

Environment Info

Quite often our app uses testers to get feedback for developers, designers etc. Not always is a screenshot sufficient to fully understand the problem. For example, visual problems on the site can occur in certain browser versions or for specific screen resolution. In the new version of Nimbus Screenshot all that data is inserted into the note (including in Slack messages) automatically – you just need to check option Add Environment Info.

The following data is inserted:

– URL of the page the screenshot is made of;
– Screen resolution;
– Specific browser and OS version;

If you think other data must be inserted please specify which exactly.
